Getting to Turrialba!

Turrialba is a beautiful town located around one hour and 30 minutes from San Jose. Is a city in the province of Cartago, which has been developing in different areas, one of which is tourism, thanks to its many natural attractions.

Because of this, during the past years the number of tourists visiting the area has been increasing, which go, looking for adventure and nature. That is why it is always important to know how to get to Turrialba.

Being a place that is relatively close to the capital, offers ease of transport to the area, combined with its enjoyment from the start of the route, it exposes its visitors to a number of attractions and landscapes full of natural beauty, letting them see with their own eyes, why is Costa Rica known as a natural paradise.

Turrialba is located 60kms / 37 miles east of San Jose, Costa Rica. The main route is the one starting in the San Jose area, passing first San Pedro, Curridabat and taking the Florencio del Castillo highway to get to Cartago, passing through Paraíso, Cervantes and Juan Viñas. The road is in good shape and if you drive, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking landscapes as well as several restaurants providing excellent service.

Another route would be sliding on the slopes of Irazu and Turrialba Volcanoes, then passing through Pacayas and Santa Cruz, these last places famous for Turrialba cheese, described as one of the best cheeses in the country.

The final route from San Jose, it would be entering Paraiso in Cartago, Orosi Valley, then passed through the town of Tucurrique, reaching the city of Turrialba.
Finally, if you are in the Caribbean side, you can head Siquirres first, and then take the road leading to Turrialba, which is in excellent condition.
