Monteverde is located right on the continental divide, at an altitude of 5,900 feet.  It overlooks the Gulf of Nicoya, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean dotted with several islands.  When the perfect climate conditions are present, which is often at sunset, spectacular results are observed.  Mario G, a guest at the property commented “The room was amazing. At first I didn’t understand when they said that it had an ocean view, since I was going to a mountain hotel, but when I got there, I finally understood. There was a large glass door and a spectacular view of the shore looking out west, ideal to watch the sunset.”  Travelrobs, another recent guest exclaimed: “This hotel was exquisite. I loved the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and absolutely stunning views from huge panoramic windows.”
